Q: What is the time line of the workshops?
A: There will be three workshops: two one-week workshop with instructions, and one two-day concluding conference. The first workshop will take place in Champaign, IL on June 10-14. The second will take place in Columbia, SC on August 5-9. The two-day concluding conference will take place in Columbia, SC on August 25-26.
Q: What topics will be covered by the workshop?
A: Topics included in the workshop are computer vision, augmented reality, game design, and mobile application development. We will also give instructions on digital humanities project design and management;
Q: Should I attend both workshops?
A: Yes, it is required that participants selected will attend both workshops. There are five at-large positions at each workshop for local scholars interest in their local center’s computational specialties.
Q: How should I make travel arrangements, including airline tickets and lodging?
A: We will make arrangements based on your preference. The payment of airline tickets and lodging will be billed directly to the grant.
Q: What costs will be covered by the workshop?
A: The organizer will cover travel, housing and meals.
Q: Should I bring my own laptop?
A: Computers and necessary software will be provided, but participants are allowed to use their own laptops (after security check).
